On Nov. 22, Warsaw attorney David Kolbe traveled to Memphis, Tenn., to present a check to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The unconditional gift of nearly $700,000 was presented on behalf of the estate of Philip L. Holliday. Holliday, a client of Kolbe's, resided on Webster Lake for a number of years before his death.

He was active in supporting the local arts and the Animal Welfare League. He also was active in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Warsaw. Prior to moving to Webster Lake, Holliday resided for a number of years in Chicago, Ill.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., and is dedicated to providing medical care to children suffering profound illnesses.

St. Jude was started by the late actor and comedian Danny Thomas in 1956.

Thomas' dream to bring hope and healing to children is carried on by many benefactors, dedicated doctors, nurses, staff, scientists, community leaders and his family.
