North Manchester author Alan Flory will present a children's book in Winona Lake he recently authored.
A book signing, reading and signing performance will be at The Tree of Life Christian Bookstore, 1104 Kings Highway, Dec. 11 and Dec. 15.Flory wrote a book titled "God Made Me, He Made You!" that is accompanied with a CD.
The event Dec. 11 will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
The book has been nominated for the 2008 Benjamin Franklin Award for Best Children's Picture Book, and includes a variety of animals who sing and praise God in unique ways.
Lyrics and sheet music, along with a music CD, is included so children can sing along with the book's animal characters.
"Including multiple types of media with books had a dual purpose," Flory said.
"I've found through my many years of teaching and singing that the more ways a child gets involved while reading or being read to, the more they retain and the more they have fun as well."
Flory has spent the past 35 years interacting with children as a teacher, coach, assistant principal and a Sunday school teacher.
