The Kosciusko Cares Film Camp invites local teens ages 13 to 18 to audition for its Film Camp film projects June 10 at Tourmaline, 208 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, during time slots between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The details of the roles and projects will be announced to the press and on its Facebook and Twitter pages June 8. Chosen actors will rehearse and film from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 13 to 17, according to a press release from Kosciusko Cares. Email jessica@kosciuskocares.org to sign up for an audition or for further questions about the auditions. Its Facebook is facebook.com/kosciuskocares and its Twitter is @kosciuskocares The short films will be released to Kosciusko Care’s Youtube channel at Youtube.com/kosciuskocares, and one film will be used as a movie theater ad at North Pointe Cinemas. The films are a part of the Kosciusko Cares positive messaging campaign. Kosciusko Cares has evolved from its initial purpose of collecting and evaluating community data and information to the development and implementation of evidence-based programs to support health and wellness for youth and families, the press release states. It’s now entered a more robust phase to better serve county residents in the area of prevention by increasing prevention messages, educating the public regarding mental health issues and substance abuse problems, and implementing community wide programs involving youth, according to the release. In January Kosciusko Cares, under the umbrella of Bowen Center, was accepted as an associate member of the Indiana Youth Services Association, and as such will become a fully accredited Youth Services Bureau later this year.
