Warsaw Downtown Days drew hundreds of runners and bicyclists Saturday with many local athletes placing.
The event featured a Criterium Cycling bicycle race, 5K race, a Penguin Point/ Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Big Wheel race and kids road race.
The Criterium race was a two-block 1/2-mile rectangle course around the Kosciusko County Courthouse.The locally sponsored Alderfer Bergen Cycling Team had seven bicyclists compete.
The Criterium Race was kicked off by the women's race where five women competed. Local cyclists Nicole Borem and Anne Young finished second and third.
The other race was for entry-level racers in the category 4/5 division.
Master racers, cyclists of various talents 35 years and older, took the course.
Eric Fagerberg, Louisville, Ky., of Calistoga Racing, defeated Tom Cox, Bloomington, of the Alderfer Bergen team.
The final event before the main race was the intermediate Category 3/4 race. There were seven local athletes who participated in the race. Local rider Matt Johnson finished third.
Category Pro 1/2 winners, all of Alderfer Bergen Cycling, included: Michael Sherer, first place; Ryan Knapp, eighth place; Tom Cox, 11th place; Isaac Neff, 19th place; and Chris Chartier, 23rd place.
Category 3/4 winners were Matt Johnson, third place; Chad Salla, eighth place; and Phil Austin, ninth place.
Category 4/5 winners were Troy Turley, second place; Michael Cook, fifth place; Baxter Burnworth, ninth place; and Jim Lancaster, 12th place.
Tom Cox took second place in the Masters 35 years and older division.

Kids also participated in the kids road race.
Winners in the age 4-6 category were: Megan Metzger, Kier Lightfoot and Mason Martz; age 7-9 category: Mackenzie Martz, Hunter Metzger and Will Freeman; and age 10-12 category: Alexi Demopoulos, James Freeman and Suzan Young.
Children also participated in the annual Penguin Point/Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Big Wheel race.
Winners in the age 4-5 category were: first place, Gage Stiver; second place, Julian Slater; and third place, Dawson Waldrop; age 6-7 category: first place, Luke Prater; second place, Dustin Newsome; and third place, Canton Waddle.
The winners received trophies and first-place winners in each category received a bicycle.
