Little Crow Gets Head Start On United Way CampaignDespite not being a United Way Pacesetter company this year, Little Crow Foods decided it wanted to do its part to help raise funds for the organization.

Around lunch Wednesday, Denny Fuller, owner and chief executive officer of Little Crow Foods, as well as Vice President of Operations Ron Shipley, decided to let employees pay to take a shot at putting them in a dunk tank.

Little Crow Foods employs around 53 people. The company's key leader for United Way fundraising, Tom Lawrence, said he hopes to have about 75 percent employee participation. That would be a 7 percent increase from 2009.

"It's fun for them to take shots at the bosses," said Lawrence of Wednesday's dunk tank.

The company is on its way of exceeding its 2009 contribution of $9,500.

Lawrence said the employees at Little Crow Foods believe in helping the United Way so much because United Way personifies the company's mission statement, which is to be caring, ethical and thriving.

Little Crow Foods raised $104 during lunch Wednesday from the dunk tank.
