Lilly Center For Lakes & Streams Hosts Summer Events Starting In June

WINONA LAKE – With extended hours of daylight, it can often be difficult to fill these long summer days, especially for families with young children at home.
Beat the boredom by attending one of the Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams’ variety of upcoming summer events!
Stories & STEM: June 10, 17, 24; 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Warsaw Community Public Library. Join us for an environmental-themed story and a hands-on activity to go with it. No RSVP required.

Native Freshwater Mussels Workshop: June 13, 10-11:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. Learn how to identify freshwater mussels then apply that knowledge to fieldwork in a nearby stream. RSVP at https://lakes.grace.edu/events/workshop-native-freshwater-mussels/.

Swamp Stomp: July 1, 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Lilly Center. Middle schoolers will hike through woods and wetlands while participating in hands-on activities and learning about aquatic ecology. This event is in partnership with Warsaw Community Public Library. No RSVP required.

Summer Foraging Expedition: July 25, 10-12 p.m. at Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area. Participants will learn how to identify and forage for edible plants while hiking light trails. RSVP at https://lakes.grace.edu/events/expedition-summer-foraging-2/.
