Leesburg Town Council members announced Monday that the town will host a Memorial Day parade and service May 26 at 10:30 a.m. to honor those who have served the country. Those participating in the parade must be in place by 10:15 a.m. Placement is as follows: all veterans in front of town hall; all youth on Van Buren Street; all cars on North Harrison Street, followed by trucks; and all tractors on East Plum Street. A service including a firing squad will be held at the cemetery following the parade. Should it rain May 26, the service will be held inside the Lions Building. In case of inclement weather, the parade will follow the same route. The council also announced the town will also host its garage sale June 21 to June 28. Also Monday, the street department discussed property cleaning and citations and the sewer department referenced two pump issues.
