LEESBURG - The Leesburg community honored those who have served in the military with a Memorial Day parade and service.

There was a lot of community attendance that lined the parade route to watch the veterans, police, fire trucks, cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, youth and adults participate in the parade. Among the participants were the Echos of the Past Group and the Warsaw Garden Tractor Club. The Clunette Methodist Church and the local 4-H Club each had a large number of participants. Ted Carter played patriotic music during the parade.
The parade was directed by Craig Charlton. The lineup prior to the parade was organized by Saber Charlton. Jim Loser provided golf carts for the veterans. Farmers State Bank and PNC Bank provided funds for the tokens of appreciation for participating and expenses of the parade. The power supply for the service at the cemetery was provided by Leesburg Methodist Church.
The ceremony at the Leesburg Cemetery was directed by Sue Richey. The music was provided by Rick Whitaker. The speaker was Ken Locke, Salvation Army. Richard Klopenstein read the memorial roster for the Leesburg, Oswego and Clunette cemeteries. After the deceased were saluted, Martin Becker played “Taps”.
