Leesburg Man Hospitalized after Motorcycle Wreck

MILFORD – A Leesburg man was hospitalized Saturday night after wrecking his motorcycle and attempting to leave the scene of the accident.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, Justin L. Graff, 34, East Van Buren Street, Leesburg, was southbound on Old Ind. 15, just south of Mock Road, when his motorcycle left the roadway and fell onto its side, sliding approximately 75 feet before it came to rest on the side of the road in the grass.
Shortly after the accident occurred, a witness alerted dispatch that Graff, who reportedly had a severely bleeding head wound, was attempting to leave the scene of the accident.
Just as Graff attempted to leave the scene, a Milford Police Dept. officer arrived and witnessed the motorcycle leaving the scene. The officer proceeded to follow Graff with his emergency lights activated, but Graff continued southbound to CR 900N where he turned eastbound, running a stop sign. The officer was able to stop the motorcycle just east of North CR 200E.
According to the report, Graff had suffered severe head lacerations and a broken leg.
Graff told police he was traveling southbound toward Leesburg when he swerved to miss a deer. Officers noted damage to the motorcycle and an odor of alcohol on the bike. A beer can was found at the scene of the accident and Graff advised he had drank a few beers before riding that evening.
Graff was transported to Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne for treatment and KCSD is investigating a possible charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
