Posted
A Leesburg man was arrested for domestic battery after attacking his girlfriend Thursday.
Michael Thomas, 23, of 4100 W. Country Drive, Leesburg, was arrested on Friday and charged with battery.
Warsaw Police Department responded to a Warsaw restaurant Thursday, where Thomas was. He told police that he was there to talk to his girlfriend.
Police interviewed the victim, who said that Thomas used to live with her. A week ago, he moved back into her home and refused to leave. She told officers that when she came home from work Thursday, he began calling her names and kept her from leaving.
Thomas then threw the victim against the oven in the home, where she hit her head. He then threw her onto a coffee table and against the wall. At this point, she was in so much pain she could not move, according to the probable cause affidavit provided by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
She continued that she told Thomas she had to return to work at the restaurant. He let her leave, but said he would kill her if she called the police. He then followed her to the restaurant, where he was arrested.
