Lafayette Man Charged with Sexual Battery in Kosciusko

A Lafayette man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly breaking into the home of an ex-girlfriend and sexually assaulting her. Christopher C. Simpson, 38, of Lafayette, was charged with burglary, criminal deviate conduct, and sexual battery – all felony charges. According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Simpson kicked in the front door of his ex-girlfriend’s residence and entered without her consent. He proceeded to knock her to the floor, ripping her clothing and sexually assaulting her. Simpson then left her residence. Police say the woman's son was in the residence at the time of the incident. Simpson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail Tuesday afternoon. Bond was set at $10,000.
