DUNLAP – The Warsaw girls swimming and diving team placed third out of eight teams with 306 points at Saturday’s Northern Lakes?Conference Championships at Concord High School.
Delaney Wihebrink finished first in the 100 breaststroke for the Lady?Tigers.
Her time of 1:05.53 marks a new Warsaw and NLC championship meet record.
The Lady?Tigers had two third-place finishes.
Their team of Leah Reinholt, Wihebrink, Taylor Gunter and Olivia Herman placed third in the 200 medley relay in 1:55.22, while Herman, Gunter, Wihebrink and Lillian Boston were third in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:52.24.
Gunter earned an honorable mention at the meet.
Wawasee placed fourth with 200 points.
The Lady Warriors’ team of Ella Park, Lillian Tyler, Alexandra Haberman and Rileigh Atwood placed third in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:59.28.
Park was named All-NLC, while Atwood received an honorable mention.

Take?Fifth At Garrett
GARRETT – The Warsaw wrestling team placed fifth out of 14 teams with a score of 123 points at Saturday’s Garrett Invitational.
Warsaw’s Jose Grimmett (152 pounds) placed second in his weight class.
Grimmett won by forfeit in the first round before winning a 10-4 decision over Garrett’s Kolin Cope in a quarterfinal and winning a 14-5 major decision over Southern Wells’ Coleman Beeks in a semifinal.
Grimmett lost by fall to Norwell’s Gage Schuckman in the title match.
Brock Hueber (195 pounds) also placed second in his weight class for the Tigers.
Hueber had a bye in the first round before winning by fall over Fort?Wayne Wayne’s Adrian Allen in a quarterfinal and winning a 5-2 decision over Leo’s?Justin Poeppel in a semifinal.
He lost by technical fall to Norwell’s?Cale Gray in the final.
Brandon Estepp (160) pounds earned a third-place finish for the?Tigers.
Leo won the invite with 201 points.
Valley Places Sixth At Goshen?Invitational
GOSHEN – The Tippecanoe Valley wrestling team had three top-three finishers to place sixth with 141 points at Saturday’s Goshen Invitational.
Valley’s Branson McBrier (126 pounds) placed second in his weight class. He won by forfeit in the first round before beating Whitko’s Kyle Reed by a 6-5 decision in the second to advance to the finals, where he lost to Columbia City’s Jarrett Forrester by a 16-3 major decision.
Reed placed third by a 10-0 major decision for the?Wildcats, who finished eighth at the invite with 74.5 points.
Valley’s?Drake Montelongo (113 pounds) and Jonathan Humes (152 pounds) posted third-place finishes.
Goshen won the invite with 223.5 points.

Routs Memorial
SYRACUSE – Ella Beezley scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds to lead the Wawasee JV girls basketball team to a 32-14 win over Elkhart Memorial Saturday.
Amari Peete had six points and four rebounds for the Lady Warriors (12-6, 2-3 Northern Lakes Conference), while Emily Haines grabbed seven rebounds.

Woodlan Invite
WOODBURN – Warsaw JV wrestler Josh?Pelfrey placed sixth in the 160 pound class at Saturday’s Woodlan Invitational.
Pelfrey went 3-2, while his teammate Chris McAfoose went 2-2.
Warriors Top Jimmies
SYRACUSE – Landon?Gause scored 15 points to lead the Wawasee freshman boys basketball team to a 39-30 win Saturday over Jimtown.
Mason Possell added 12 points for the Warriors (8-3, 2-2 NLC).
