KREMC Crew Assists With Power Outages In S. Ind.

Posted
A Kosciusko REMC work crew responded to a request for help from Vectren Power, which provides electric service to Evansville and the surrounding area.

The electric company is experiencing severe outages as a result of an ice storm that swept through the southern part of the state last week, leaving many homes without power. Heavy ice is covering trees and power lines, causing major outages.

"Two of our linemen, Kelly Neace and Mike Whitaker, volunteered to assist with this weather emergency," said Steve Rhodes, Kosciusko REMC CEO & President. "They drove to Evansville in a bucket truck to provide extra resources to assist in getting power restored for Vectren's customers. They'll be there helping for as long as necessary. In light of our December ice storm, we understand the need for help during weather emergencies like this one, and we help others when we can, whether it's assisting another co-op or another electric company in need."

Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy® electric cooperative serving more than 17,000 members throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
