Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) will be celebrating Member Appreciation Month every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the month of October with free snacks in the lobby of their office building and giveaways on their social media.
Snacks will come in prepackaged to-go bags and will be one bag per member for the month, so all members have the chance to receive one. You must be a KREMC member to participate, according to a provided news release.
Member Appreciation Month is an annual KREMC event which focuses on showing gratitude to its members. As an electric cooperative, KREMC is not-for-profit organization owned by its members. Any profit made is returned to members in the form of infrastructure improvements or capital credits. KREMC’s board of directors is elected by members, who have the opportunity to vote on board members every year during the annual meeting event. For KREMC, their members are at the core of everything they do, and Member Appreciation Month is the perfect event to show this, the release states.
“Our members are the heart of this cooperative. Member Appreciation Day is our chance to say thank you — whether in person or online. We hope to see you there!” said KREMC Vice President of Member Services Stephanie Scott.
This event will also highlight several local KREMC Co-op Connection Businesses by providing giveaways from some participating businesses. The Co-op Connections website provides exclusive discounts to KREMC members at around 30 local businesses. Follow KREMC on Facebook or Instagram to participate in these giveaways. At the same time, KREMC will be hosting a fundraiser for Francine’s Friends in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This nonprofit organization provides mobile mammography in partnership with Parkview Health and the Breast Diagnostic Center. Members will be able to contribute to them at a table in the KREMC lobby.
