Bourbon residents James and Ashley Davis’ baby Wyatt was born on National Ag Day Tuesday at Kosciusko Community Hospital. In celebration of National Agriculture Week, the Kosciusko County Agriculture Awareness Committee recognized Wyatt for being the first baby born on Ag Day. National Ag Week recognizes and celebrates agriculture. Wyatt was born Tuesday at 2:31 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces and measured 20 inches. Waneta Bishop and Lorraine Anglin, Ag Committee members, visited the KCH Birthplace Wednesday and presented the family with agriculture-related gifts including a baby blanket, baby toys, onesies and books. The giveaway is the kick-off for two additional upcoming events. The committee hosts Ag Day in April for area fourth-graders and the Taste of Agriculture for the community. The community is invited to attend the Taste of Agriculture April 15 at 5 p.m. at Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. The free event will feature foods produced in Kosciusko County and will provide an opportunity to meet farmers that produce and sell products. Additionally, activities for all ages are planned including a coloring contest, scavenger hunt and kiddie pedal-tractor pull. Attendees have the opportunity to win a door prize including grocery gift cards, locally grown food products, gift certificates to area agribusinesses among other prizes.
