Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Maumee Paint, 926 N. Detroit St., Warsaw, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce Friday.
Owner Patrick Olson said Maumee Paint has been at the Detroit Street location since the middle of December and is the paint store’s second location. The first location is in Fort Wayne and has been there since 1924. Olson is from Warsaw and bought the Fort Wayne location a few years ago and decided to bring another location to Warsaw.
The paint store sells Benjamin Moore, PBG and California paint. Maumee is mostly contractor driven, but “we’re also open to retail for anybody that wants to walk and get paint, too, but we carry a ton of product.” That service-based aspect allows the store to make sure they can do any job for anybody, he said.
The quantity of paint differentiates them from other stores. Olson said it allows Maumee to provide customers enough paint to paint an entire house or apartment complex. Maumee is also able to match paint shade and stains. He said the ability to match stains is very hard, but years of experience doing that gives Maumee a leg up.
He said Maumee will be able to provide Warsaw with a store that can provide a premium paint product. Customers can also save their paint colors and stains.
Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
