Kosciusko Cares Premieres Teen Short Films

Posted
Like any film premiere, Friday evening’s Kosciusko Cares Teen Film Premiere featured a red carpet, dressed-up cast and crew and a question-and-answer session after the screening of the films.
Kosciusko Cares hosted a film camp for teenagers the last two weeks. During the first week, teens wrote the scripts for four short films. In the second week, after auditions for actors, they shot the short films.
The teens and their families then attended the film premiere Friday at Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Food and beverage were provided, as was a red carpet for photos. A behind-the-scenes video was shown by Bryce Fritzel, followed by each of the four  films all under four minutes each. The evening concluded with a Q&A session.
The titles of the four shorts were “What Would You Do?,” “Camera Commercial,” “Fight Nite Polite” and “Chaos.”
Kosciusko Cares Communications Director Jessica Hardy said six campers attended the film camp and there were 18 actors in the films, including some of the campers.
Hardy said a goal of the film camp was to create films centered around the themes of kindness and compassion. The film writers had to write their scripts about those themes.
Along with the films being on Kosciusko Care’s YouTube channel at YouTube.com/KosciuskoCares, Hardy said, “You might see a couple of these play before movies at North Pointe.”
Kosciusko Cares is in its fourth year, and she said it wants to continue to do programs like the film camp.
The mission statement of Kosciusko Cares is to advocate for, support and promote healthy youth development leading to increased resiliency, responsibility, and wellness by preventing and decreasing substance abuse and other problem behaviors, according to its website at kosciuskocares.org
