A Knox man was injured Friday morning after hitting the rear of a semi trailer.
According to information provided by the Warsaw Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of U.S. 30 at Meijer Drive at 5:56 a.m.
The investigation determined Edward Gardner, 79, Knox, was traveling east on U.S. 30 in a 2010 gray Chrysler Town and Country van. The van hit the rear of a white 2021 Freightliner Cascadia semi trailer, driven by Sumit Grover, 47, of Carpentersville, Ill., that was stopped at a red traffic light.
Gardner was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment of his injuries. Grover did not report any injuries.
Damage was estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
