WINONA LAKE – Kids Market Inc., a non-profit organization, will host its semi-annual sale Feb. 28 at Rodeheaver Auditorium on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake. According to a press release from Kids Market Inc., the organization exists to help the women and children of Kosciusko County by holding two consignment sales each year. For the spring sale, it is time to clean out the closets and price summer attire, Easter and spring dresses and strollers – to name a few items. The consignors are able to sell their items and make a percentage of the sale. Items are donated to many organizations within Kosciusko County that Kids Market has adopted. After the bills are paid and the organization has budgeted for the next sale, the money that is left over is given away. After the September 2014 sale, Kids Market Inc. donated $9,800 to the following non-profit charities: Project Independence, Beaman Home, Heartline, Lakeland Youth Center, New Beginnings Preschool, North Webster Community Center, Baker Youth Club, Teen Parents Succeeding, Fellowship Missions, Little Lambs Preschool, Joe’s Kids. Since its first sale in fall 2001, Kids Market has donated over $189,000 to local organizations. Families that the organization has adopted get the chance to come and pick out clothing for free. Area organizations come to collect multiple boxes of donated items. The organization hears stories about how this sale has helped the women and children that live in the community. The February sale information is as follows: Item check-in: Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon; volunteer pre-sale: Feb. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.; consignor pre-sale: Feb. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m.; public sale: Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 50-percent off sale: Feb. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m.; and pick up: March 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. The deadline for becoming a consignor for the March sale is at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
