KGP Logistics Expands, Adds 140 Manufacturing Jobs

Posted
KGP Logistics, a woman-owned business in Warsaw combining supply chain, distribution and integrated services to the telecommunications industry, will open its second location in January.
The company’s Warsaw facilities, in operation since KGP’s acquisition of EMBARQ Logistics in 2009, will open the location in the former PolyOne building on Ind. 15 North, according to the Kosciusko Economic Development Corp.
This added facility will accommodate an increase in production the company has planned for its in-factory fiber optic cable splicing work, as a result of several new contracts the company acquired in 2015, according to KEDCo’s announcement. With this increased production, KGP will offer 75 new assembly jobs across two shifts, with expected growth to 140 employees by 2017.
“We are excited about this expansion of a company in the critical field of high technology telecommunications,” said KEDCo President George Robertson.
Company management looks forward to this opportunity of growth in the Warsaw community, according to David Russell, manager of fiber optics.
“We couldn’t be more excited as KGP Logistics expands operations in Warsaw. We consider each person as a valued member of our team, not just a number,” he is quoted as saying.
Employees will be brought on board through Staffmark and Express Employment Professionals, with consideration for direct hire after six months of employment, if production and attendance expectations are met, the announcement states.
