Owned by Jaqueline Juarez, her husband, Fernando Montellano, described it as, “an ice cream truck with Hispanic, or Mexican, snacks, as well. We specialize in strawberry with whipped cream and different ice cream flavors, as well.”
He said most of the snacks are for the Hispanic community, but he likes to bring in a trailer “so that everyone can come and have a dessert from our Motherland, so that way everyone can have a little taste of what Mexico is.”
Both Jaqueline and Fernando have full-time jobs, so the truck is their side business. They operate only on the weekends. Friday, they can be found at Whispering Pines, the mobile home park on the north side of Warsaw, from 6 to 9 or 10 p.m. Saturdays, they are at the Auto Zone parking lot mostly, but are looking for other locations to mix it up a bit. On Sundays, from 2 to 9 p.m., they can be found near the Castaldi Fountain at Center Lake.
“We started the business in September. We used to have another business before that, something related with it. But, now we just focus on the mobile at this point,” he said.
They accept credit cards, cash and all the forms of payment.
“I’d just like you to come and taste all of the stuff that we have. I always try to get my customers to try something different. That way you have a taste of different things and not just focusing on one thing. That’s my main goal - for everyone to taste a little bit and be happy with what we have here and come back,” Montellano concluded.
