KDI Seeks Grant To Address Biomedical, Agricultural Concerns

Posted

Kosciusko Development Inc. executive board members met Wednesday with Bob Sanders presiding.

Kim Nance, economic development coordinator, said an application for a Rural Development Action Grant has been sent. The $200,000 grant requires a 25 percent match provided by pledges from Lake City, Mutual Federal and Farmers State banks.

If awarded, a revolving loan program will be established to assist manufacturing industries, biomedical companies and agricultural concerns.

The grant is available through the Indiana Rural Development Council, and is a new program to spur growth in the state.

Board president Joy McCarthy-Sessing said two inquiries were answered regarding available property. One is a medical company and another, in conjunction with Norfolk-Southern Railroad, seeks 160 acres.
