Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department is investigating several reported incidents of fraudulent usage or attempted criminal usage of credit cards.
The investigation, which started approximately three weeks ago, has led KCSD detectives to determine that the access of the credit card numbers was not done locally.
Detectives, along with help from outside agencies, are starting to expand the investigation to areas throughout the country to attempt to determine where the breech of the credit card numbers might have originated.
KCSD reminds everyone to always check their credit card or bank card statements every month to make sure fraudulent charges are not going unseen on their account.
The illegal access and use of credit card numbers throughout the United States is a multi-million dollar business and the criminal element is continually trying new methods to obtain people’s information.
