An assortment of newer and older vehicles were parked along Center and Buffalo streets in downtown Warsaw for the Kosciusko Board of Realtors (KBOR) Cruise-In as part of Third Fridays.
Kierstyn Jones, KBOR affiliate for American Family Insurance, said the cruise-in is “for any cars or motorcycles - two, three, four wheels, bring them all out - we raise funds throughout the year for our children’s charities. We do Blessings in a Book Bag where we get with the schools, we end up buying book bags for children in need, families in need.”
They also do Boots for Scholars where they pair up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for a fundraiser. “They get to come and get some shoes and then have some pizza, just a time to make them feel special,” Jones said.
KBOR offers scholarships for Kosciusko County seniors and volunteers with The Magical Meadows.
“All the money that we raise with the cruise-in goes towards those charities and events that we do throughout the year,” she said.
KBOR helps realtors in the county “with all the legalities behind the scenes when it comes to buying or selling a home as a realtor. And then, also, an affiliate, basically, is just anything that has to do with homes or realtors like insurance, building trades, there’s lenders, there’s title holders, bankers. We just all get together and the camaraderie of raising funds for the children’s charities,” Jones stated.

Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Warsaw (MSW) Events Coordinator Nora Christiansen said the Chamber and MSW partnered with KBOR for August’s Third Friday.
Besides the cruise-in Friday, there were vendors, a live band and food trucks.
The September Third Friday, on Sept. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m., will be Taste of Kosciusko.
“So that’s a really fun one because we try to get as many food-based businesses as possible out here in downtown,” Christiansen said. “You can buy tickets from the Chamber, and then use those tickets to go around to the food vendors and get tastes of what they have to offer.”
She said a few food-based businesses have already signed up but they’re taking more.
October means The Downtown Spooktacular, which is scheduled for Oct. 30. Christiansen said they will welcome all the kids to downtown Warsaw to do trick-or-treating in the streets.
While there’s no Third Friday in November, it’ll be First Friday in December for the Twinkle Light Parade. There will be vendors, the Breakfast Optimist Club Santa’s House, carriage lights and the parade.
