Judge Huffer To Seek Re-Election

Judge Duane G. Huffer is running for a third term as Superior Court I judge in the Republican May 6 primary.

Huffer, 60, has served as Superior Court I judge since Jan. 1, 1997.He is a 1966 Warsaw High School graduate. In 1970, he graduated from Indiana University with a degree in economics. He earned his juris doctorate degree from Stetson University College of Law, St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1974.

He is a graduate of Indiana Judicial College, Indiana Graduate Program for Judges and has served on the Juvenile Law Benchbook Committee for the Judicial Conference of Indiana.

Huffer is licensed to practice law in Indiana and Florida. He has practiced law in Kosciusko County for more than 22 years.

For many years, Huffer was a member of the firm of Snodgrass, Lambert, Bazini & Huffer.

Huffer has served as legal counsel for Claypool, Warsaw, Kosciusko Department of Public Welfare and the Kosciusko County Board of Realtors.

He has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Warsaw Area Chamber of Commerce, Kosciusko Development Inc., Warsaw Community Development Corp., Warsaw Community Day Care, Kosciusko County Department of Public Works and other community organizations.

He is former president of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce, KDI, Warsaw Community Day Care and Kosciusko County Bar Association.

Huffer was a member of the first class of the Kosciusko Leadership Academy. He is currently a member of the Kosciusko County Bar Association and is on the board of directors of the Kosciusko Historical Society.

Huffer married Beth Ellen in 1975 in Warsaw, where they continue to reside. Beth Ellen is an international services manager for DePuy Inc. They have two adult sons, Nathan D. and Nicholas A. Huffer.
