After grabbing a meal at Jimmy John’s, customers will be able to walk over to Warsaw’s newest frozen yogurt shop for dessert beginning Monday. Co-owners Josh Grannell and Logan Todd decided to open “TG’s” after a friend in California told them how popular self-serve yogurt shops are. They had just opened Jimmy John’s in summer 2012. “We thought about it for awhile and with all the lakes around here, we thought it was a good idea,” said Grannell. Before opening their frozen yogurt shop at 1991 N. Detroit St., the two men visited the other shops in town. “It’s a self-serve frozen yogurt shop, similar to those in town. The unique thing about ours is that it has a couch, a fireplace and a kids’ corral that caters to families,” Grannell said. Todd said they will probably rotate through popular flavors each week, while keeping the mainstays like chocolate and vanilla. New flavors also will come and go. For those who can’t eat dairy, Todd said they will have sorbets. Low-fat choices also will be available. “There will be options for everyone,” Todd said. “We’ll have over 50 toppings,” said Grannell. “It took us awhile to get to 50,” Todd noted. Honeyhill is TG’s yogurt supplier. Grannell said that also makes their shop unique because no one else has them. He said Honeyhill’s yogurt is creamier. TG’s will be open at 10 a.m. every day seven days a week, Todd stated. Free WiFi will be available. In the fall, with the fireplace going, Grannell said they will serve hot chocolate and possibly coffee so people can come in and do their homework, surf the Internet or just relax with friends. “We’re not a franchise. What’s great about being independently owned is we can do our own thing,” Grannell said. “As the fall comes around, if we see customers want to see coffee added or hot chocolate, we can do those kind of things.” TG’s will have a suggestion box for customers. “We always want to cater to our customers,” Grannell said. TG’s is currently taking applications, which are available at Jimmy John’s. TG’s is hiring for all positions.
