It's Haunting Season: Soul Takers Acres Returns Sept. 27

Posted
The Kosciusko County Community Fair Inc. is preparing again for their annual haunting season and Soul Takers Acres is nearly ready for opening night.
The haunted house will open at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Kosciusko County Fair Grounds Beef Barn and will continue every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 26.
Randy Shepherd, Kosciusko County Fair  Board member, said work on the haunted house began immediately after the fair concluded. Between 30 and 50 volunteers will be working in the haunted house every night dressed as ghouls, ghosts and other creatures, making the pitch-black, 20 minute tour through the barn as suspenseful and scary as possible.
All proceeds from Soul Takers Acres will be split between the Kosciusko County 4-H Horse & Pony Club and the Kosciusko County Community Fair. Jeanette Wood, office manager for the county fair, said the fair is a private entity and receives no county funds, so Soul Takers Acres can only operate with the help of volunteers.
Those interested in volunteering this year can contact Charity Trump, Soul Takers Acres volunteer coordinator, at 574-551-6113.
Admission is $8 and alternate activities will be sponsored for those who choose not to enter the haunted house.
The haunted house is wheelchair accessible.
