Posted
A fight between two inmates at Kosciusko County Jail landed one inmate in the hospital.

According to a report at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Nathaniel Hollett and Andrew J. Horn got into an altercation at approximately 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.Horn sustained a facial injury and bleeding, which caused him to be taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Horn suffered a broken nose and 10 stitches to his lower right facial area.

According to a statement from Hollett, the two men got into an argument in the day room of the cell block they both reside in.

Hollett told police Horn followed him into his cell and threw a punch. Hollett admitted that after Horn threw a punch, he struck Horn and put him in a headlock

Hollett said that only he and Horn were involved in the fight, though several inmates helped clean up blood from the floor.

KCSD Deputy Travis Shively took photos of both men and noted "red-colored marks" on Hollet's nose and forehead area.

Horn spoke to police Thursday and stated that Hollett instigated the fight.

Horn told police he was in the cell block's day room and went to the glass area so he could see his girlfriend, who is also incarcerated at KCJ. At that point Horn said Hollett told him to get away from the glass.

Horn told police that Hollett had tried to bully him and "run the block" with other inmates.

Horn stated he moved away from the glass and confronted Hollett as to why he had a problem.

As Horn entered Hollett's cell, Hollett then allegedly moved behind Horn and closed his cell door.

Horn said that he was sucker punched by Hollett.

Horn then told police Hollett apologized, gave him a clean jail uniform, then told him not to say anything.

The incident has been forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office.
