Warsaw Police were searching late Friday night for an unidentified man who fled the scene of an accident.
According to Police Sgt. Doug Brumfield, the man was involved in a minor property damage accident on South Ind. 15 and left the scene.
However, evidence in the man's vehicle pointed to an injury that police believe was not caused by the accident.
"There was a lot of blood and that's what we're still investigating," said Brumfield. "The blood loss is not from the result of the accident."
Police believe the man was suffering from a gunshot or knife wound.
The vehicle, which was impounded, is registered to a resident of Kosciusko County. The police had not located the owner or the injured man at press time. Police could not confirm if the missing injured man is the owner of the vehicle.
Police searched nearby fields and homes, and police dogs were dispatched to the area.
Brumfield said there were witnesses to the accident but would not give further information because "at this point," he said, "we're still investigating."
