SYRACUSE – Indiana Department of Transportation announced intermittent short-term lane restrictions on Ind. 13 in Syracuse.
The restrictions will be between Benton and High streets, beginning Monday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Flaggers will direct traffic as needed while the work is in progress.
The restrictions are necessary to accommodate installation of a new traffic signal at Ind. 13 and Main Street in Syracuse.
The new updated signal will replace the existing signal for better efficiency and improved motorist safety. The signal is expected to be active by early May.
The signal installation at Ind. 13 and Main Street is part of a three-part contract, with updated signal installations in Kosciusko, Whitley and DeKalb counties.
The contract was awarded to Michiana for $389,000.
