WINONA LAKE – Winona Lake Police responded Saturday at 3:50 a.m. to William Drive and CR 225 South for a personal injury accident involving a 2008 Chrysler passenger car and a horse.
The driver, Ryan Price, told police he was traveling east on CR 225 South when a horse entered the roadway from the south. Price said he was unable to avoid the collision.
Price was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The horse died on impact with the vehicle. The property owners were unaware that the horse had escaped the corral.
Winona Lake Police were assisted at the scene by Winona Lake Fire Department and Multi -Township EMS.
