Posted
MILFORD - A homeless Milford man is behind bars after allegedly burglarizing a residence Wednesday afternoon.

Leroy Harry Zartman, 50, Milford, was arrested after he reportedly broke into a residence on West Street in Milford.

Anonymous callers gave Milford Town Marshal Rich Miotto a detailed description of the suspect in the burglary, and Miotto found Zartman at the intersection of James and Fourth streets around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Zartman was taken into custody without incident and reportedly confessed to going into the West Street residence. An undisclosed amount of cash also was reportedly found on Zartman at the time of his arrest.

Zartman reportedly told Miotto that he had been living out of a vehicle or living in sheds and outbuildings in Milford.

Zartman was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for burglary, a Class C felony. His bond was set at $5,000.

Miotto is still investigating if there are other possible incidents related to Zartman's vagrancy in the town limits.
