A Hoagland man is facing a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor, a level 5 felony, after allegedly touching a child inappropriately on Labor Day weekend on Webster Lake.
On Sept. 1, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office received an initial report for child molestation that occurred over the weekend in North Webster.
On or about Sept. 18, the child participated in a forensic interview at Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center. The child indicated they were there to talk about Jordan Lee Windsor, 27, Hoagland. Her friend invited her to go to their grandparents’ lake house on Webster Lake. Windsor was the friend’s uncle’s best friend, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The child stated that on Labor Day, Sept. 1, Windsor ended up falling asleep in the same bed as her and the friend. The child stated that she, the friend and Windsor were hanging out. The child then told them she was going to sleep, and Windsor told them he was going to leave, but he fell asleep.
The child stated she was lying on her side, facing the wall between Windsor and her friend. When the child fell asleep, Windsor was facing the other way. The child woke up and noticed where Windsor’s hands were.
The child stated she grabbed her phone, and Windsor stopped what he was doing because she was awake, the affidavit states. The child stated she and the friend left and got a drink. The friend kicked Windsor out of the room. The friend went back to sleep, but the child stayed awake, afraid Windsor would come back.
The child stated when she grabbed her phone, she texted her boyfriend and also called him and told him what happened. The child stated she was shaking and crying after it happened. The child told her friend’s uncle’s wife what happened.
Windsor was seen leaving the room around 8 a.m. where the child and her friend were. They told the grandparents, and the friend’s grandmother told Windsor to leave. The child indicated Windsor gave her and her friend alcohol the night before.
On or about Oct. 8, Windsor was interviewed by KCSO Det. Sgt. Neil Likens at the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department. During the interview, Windsor explained he had been visiting his friend at his friend’s family’s lake house on Webster Lake. Windsor stated the day was spent swimming and consuming alcohol on the lake. Windsor stated that later that evening, he was in the bedroom with the child and her friend. Windsor stated that he had known the friend for a long time. He said he did not recall touching the child and admitted to being intoxicated, according to the affidavit.
Windsor was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 15 and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a preliminary total bond amount of $30,500.
