Raccoon Run Golf Course owner/pro Denny Hepler said the magnitude of the Golf Channel's reality television show "Big Break VI: Trump National" is becoming more and more evident.
For 60 of Hepler's close friends, the show became even more real Tuesday evening when Bridget Dwyer made a visit to Raccoon Run to watch the third episode of the television show.
Both Hepler, a Warsaw Community High School and Florida State University graduate, and Dwyer, whose hometown is listed as Kailua, Hawaii, are participants on the show.
Dwyer, a Duramed Futures Tour player, was on her way from a golf tournament in Florida to California and decided to drop in on Hepler Tuesday.
In Tuesday's episode, Hepler and Dwyer were paired up as partners for various challenge shots against fellow competitors.
"It was very special," Hepler said of Dwyer visiting Raccoon Run. "Sixty of my close friends are there watching the episode and two of the 14 remaining contestants are there watching it with them. And we just happened to be partners in this episode. Everybody likes Bridget so far."
Hepler added, "I can't tell you how loud the place was when she chipped in. We were able to relive the moment. We jumped up and high-fived while everyone else was screaming."
Hepler was referring to one of the challenge shots in Tuesday's episode when Dwyer holed an uphill chip shot from 25 yards out, impressing the participants on the show, as well as those watching with Hepler.
The popular golf reality show, which first airs each week at 10 p.m. Tuesday on the Golf Channel, started with 18 participants - nine men and nine women. Both Hepler and Dwyer advanced to next week's episode.
In the final episode, which will air in December, one man and one woman will win exemptions to either the Senior PGA Tour or the LPGA Tour, as well as a car and cash from Donald Trump himself.
The show was filmed in July at Trump National Golf Course in Los Angeles.
