Jeremiah Heierman and Randy Girod have submitted their letters of intent to fill the Kosciusko County Republican chairman seat.
"Both people are quality candidates," said Aaron Rovenstine, Kosciusko County Republican chairman.
Rovenstine said Heierman, Warsaw, submitted his letter of intent last week. Girod, Syracuse, submitted his letter a couple of weeks ago.The deadline to file for the chairman seat was 72 hours prior to the reorganization meeting.
Candidates for the chairman seat were required to submit a letter of intent to the county party secretary and with the state committee secretary.
Rovenstine announced in January he will not seek another term. He has served as chairman for two terms.
The Kosciusko County Central Committee will hold a reorganization meeting Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Circuit Court room in the old courthouse.
Other seats to be filled are vice chairman, secretary and treasurer. The candidates for those seats must be nominated from the floor.
People to fill the seats will be selected by precinct committeemen. The terms for all four of the officers will be four years, with the next election in 2013.
Rovenstine said each candidate Saturday will have two minutes to state their reason for seeking the seat.
All Kosciusko County Republican precinct committeemen and vice committeemen are eligible to participate in the meeting.
