Heartline Pregnancy Center Inc. and Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice Inc. have partnered to benefit parents of premature babies. It started with a request from Home Care nurse Lindy Dingess, who expressed her concern for parents of premature babies when they arrive home. Dingess shared that several parents do not know where to purchase preemie diapers for the baby’s first day at home. Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice provides servicesnot only to homebound patients and end-of-life care but also services to newborns with special medical needs when they arrive home. Home Care nurses teach parents how to care for their special needs baby, and their social workers meet with the parents to address other needs of the family and provide resources. Heartline Pregnancy Center is a non-profit organization that has served the greater Warsaw area since 1985. All of their services are free and confidential. They promote well baby/child services through their voucher program which provides baby supplies through the B.A.B.E. Boutique. Heartline Pregnancy Center will provide a package of preemie diapers and a hand crochet blanket which was made by their volunteers for these babies with special health needs. The Home Care nurses will deliver these items when they visit the family in their homes. Both agencies are located in the K21 Health Services Pavilion. The purpose of this building was to bring health related service agencies together to better serve the citizens of Kosciusko County.
