Harris Announces Candidacy for Circuit Court Judge

Stephen P. Harris, an attorney in Kosciusko County, today announced his candidacy for Kosciusko County Circuit Court Judge in the 2012 Republican primary election.
Harris, 54, is a Kosciusko County native, 1976 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, a 1980 graduate of DePauw University with a bachelor’s degree in history, a 1983 graduate of Butler University with a master’s degree in business administration and a 1988 graduate of Indiana University School of Law with a doctorate of jurisprudence.
For 24 years, Harris has maintained a general law practice with his father, Philip J. Harris, who has practiced law for more than 60 years and was a former prosecutor for Kosciusko County in the 1950s.
Harris has been married to his wife, Carla, for 27 years. They have a daughter, Kara, who is a student at Warsaw Community High School.
Harris said, “This is my first time to seek election to a public office. I am seeking to fill the position of circuit court judge, which will be vacated by Judge Rex L. Reed, who is not running for re-election. It is my desire to use my legal experience and education in serving our community as circuit court judge of Kosciusko County.”
