Habitat Seeking Sponsors for Barrel Art

Posted
Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County is seeking to turn rain barrel art into funds for the next Habitat home built in the county.

Twenty-eight rain barrels have been provided by the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District to be sponsored by businesses or individuals and then turned into works of art to be displayed around downtown Warsaw.

The barrels will be unveiled at the First Friday May 4, while awards will be handed out at the First Friday June 1. The barrels will remain on display until auctioned off June 9 at the Northern Indiana Lakes Festival.

Barrels are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for a donation of $250, which includes event sponsorship, and must be completed by May 1.

Awards will be given for best creation, best color scheme, most imaginative use, best artist, most outside the barrel, most bizarre, people’s choice and more. Best in show will be decided by the barrel receiving the highest auction amount. For more information on how to participate, call 574-269-4103.
