A non-profit organization dedicated to helping low-income families find housing will hold a fundraiser in May.
Habitat For Humanity of Kosciusko County will hold a fundraiser titled "Raising The Roof" May 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. The fundraiser will be at the 2517 Restaurant, Warsaw.
Ned Van Nostrant, Habitat executive director, came up with the idea for the fundraiser.
"It is a fun venue for people to bring friends and socialize while supporting Habitat For Humanity of Kosciusko County," Van Nostrant said.
He said it has been a tough year for many businesses, yet several have still given.
All who want to help reduce sub-standard housing in Kosciusko County are invited to attend the fundraiser.
He said Habitat has appreciated the support this year from businesses and sponsors and those who have donated auction items.
He said the sponsorship levels are structured with home builder themes including excavator, brick layer, framer, finisher and roofer.
This year's fundraiser is being sponsored by Lake City Bank, Mutual Bank, Paragon Medical, Zimmer Inc., Arby's of Warsaw and Bogg's Automotive.
The fundraiser will include a performance by the band Moxie, appetizers, a cash bar and a silent auction.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at 1702 E. Center St., Warsaw, or by calling 574-269-4104 or by contacting any Habitat For Humanity board member.
Funds will be used to support Habitat For Humanity's ongoing home-building operations in Kosciusko County.
Some of the silent auctions will include a margarita machine with glasses and accessories with Williams-Sonoma valued at $460; a weekend getaway package at the Artist's Colony Inn, Nashville, Brown County, worth $500; a Vera Bradley luggage package with accessories valued at $340; and original photo prints by local photographic artist Summer Zimmer.
There also will be many gift certificates from local businesses including Max Welton Golf Course, Syracuse, Monteith Tire, Syracuse, Channel Marker Restaurant and many local marinas.
