A grandfather and grandson are both recovering from separate accidents less than 12 hours apart this week. On Wednesday night at 10 p.m., Cody Slone, 21, CR 750W, Warsaw, was in a single vehicle accident when his Mustang left the road, struck a building and over-turned. Slone was ejected and transported to Fort Wayne Lutheran with head injuries. At 9:15 a.m. Thursday morning, just under 12 hours later, William L. Johnson, 66, Valentine Road, Claypool – Slone’s grandfather – was westbound on CR 700S in his Chevy Crossover when he became fatigued and crossed the center line, colliding with a semi driven by Eaton G. Marshall, 76, of Mentone. Johnson was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with head lacerations. Slone has since been discharged by Fort Wayne Lutheran, according to a spokesperson with the hospital. Johnson is in stable condition at KCH according to KCH Director of Communications Joy Lohse. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated both accidents.
