PALM COAST, Fla. - The Grace College women’s golf team placed sixth in its first NCCAA National Championship appearance as a team at Hammock?Beach?Resort.
Anna Marshall was Grace’s top competitor, placing 15th in the nation. She carded a sizzling three-under 75 in the opening round, which put her just one stroke off the lead. Her 75 also set a program record for a single championship round.
Overall, Marshall’s 242 was the best national tournament score in Grace’s history.
Sydney Abbott shot 83-84-83 to tie for 21st place.
Tying Abbott for 21st was her teammate Kristin Holt. She started with an 87 and ended with an 83-80 over her final two rounds.
Lauren Keiser shot a combined 258, and Kara Godsey carded a 263.
Grace Golfers Tackle NCCAA Nationals
PALM COAST, Fla. - The Grace College men’s golf team ended seventh out of nine teams at Hammock Beach Resort.
Grace’s Noah Wright was electric, just missing out on All-American recognition. He shot 78 in his first championship round and followed that up with a one-under 71 and an 80 in the final round. He placed 12th on the final individual leaderboard.
Wright’s 71 was tied for the sixth-lowest round in the tournament.
Jacob Abrahamson and Caleb Leak were steady as both players carded a pair of sub-80 rounds. Abrahamson shot 83-77-78, and Leak finished 78-78-82.
Chad Spencer (249) and Camden Gongwer (251) rounded out Grace’s scoring.
