GOSHEN – Goshen Health – including its 105-bed acute care hospital and network of primary and specialty care physicians – has officially joined Parkview Health.
This milestone marks a new chapter in a shared commitment to preserve and expand access to high-quality healthcare for patients and families, according to a provided news release.
As a regional healthcare destination serving patients from northern Indiana and southern Michigan, the newly minted Parkview Goshen Hospital will continue to play an important role in expanding access to hospital care close to home, the release states.
"Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for healthcare in Elkhart County and throughout the region," said Dr. Ray Dusman, president, physician and clinical enterprise, Parkview Health. "Goshen Health has built an exceptional legacy of serving this community, and we are honored to welcome its co-workers, providers and patients to Parkview. Together, we will build on that legacy, expand access to care close to home and advance our commitment to delivering high- quality healthcare at the best cost for the communities we serve."
The affiliation follows an agreement announced earlier this year and reflects both organizations' long-term commitment to strengthening local healthcare.
For more than 100 years, Goshen Health has served the community with a dedication to compassionate, high-quality care, according to the release. The affiliation ensures that legacy continues, while creating new opportunities to strengthen healthcare services. As part of Parkview Health, the organization will gain access to additional resources, technology and expertise that support its continued growth and long-term sustainability.
The affiliation also supports Parkview Health's commitment to providing high-quality care at the best cost. As part of Parkview, patients will benefit from expanded access to services, coordinated care across a larger network and resources designed to improve healthcare value for the communities Parkview serves.
“While our name is changing, our commitment to this community is not,” said Randy Christophel, president and CEO, Goshen Health. “For more than a century, Goshen Health has been built on the trust of our patients, the dedication of our colleagues and a shared commitment to caring for our neighbors. Joining Parkview allows us to honor that legacy while creating new opportunities to strengthen healthcare close to home. Our patients will continue to see the familiar faces and experience the compassionate care they know and trust, now supported by the additional resources and expertise of Parkview Health. I’m incredibly proud of our team and excited for what we will accomplish together for the patients, families and communities who count on us.”
Over the coming months, approximately 2,000 Goshen Health co-workers and providers will integrate with Parkview's systems and infrastructure.
Patients will notice updated branding, signage and technology platforms over the next year.
As Indiana’s largest rural health provider, Parkview Health now includes 16 hospitals, in addition to its network of 300+ Parkview Physicians Group locations, according to the release. The affiliation supports Parkview's broader vision of strengthening healthcare access across Indiana by supporting strong rural hospitals and connecting communities to advanced specialty care, innovative technologies and a broad network of healthcare resources.
