Golfer Vie Sunday For Holes-In-One At Fund-Raiser

Posted

Four contestants aced their shots during the Cardinal Center's $1 Million Shoot Out qualification rounds July 13-15.

Can they, or any of the other 37 finalists, do it again Sunday afternoon?

At Little Big Horn Golf Course, Wynn Warren hit the perfect shot at a ball in the hole 90 yards away. Bill Meyer and George Branscome at Swan Lake Golf Course and Beth Petrosky at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club each had a hole-in-one during the July 13-15 first rounds. They each won $50 for their accomplishment.

The final round of the third annual event will take place at Stonehenge Golf Course with qualifiers teeing up at 4 p.m.

The final competition hole is set at 125 yards. A hole-in-one pays $1 million over 30 years, split equally between the golfer and the Cardinal Center.

Two $15,000 jackpot holes also will be near the $1 million hole.

Qualification rounds were held on the driving ranges of seven golf courses: Little Big Horn, Old Road 30; Raccoon Run in Winona Lake; Rozella Ford, Warsaw; South Shore, Syracuse; Sprig-O-Mint, Bremen; Swan Lake, Plymouth; and Lake Tippecanoe Country Club, near Leesburg.

The Cardinal Center is a not-for-profit human service organization providing services to people with disabilities in Kosciusko, Marshall, Cass, Fulton, Carroll and surrounding counties in Indiana.

R.R. Donnelley and Sons Co. has been the premier sponsor of the hole-in-one event for the last three years. In addition to providing $5,000 to help cover some event expenses, nearly 100 Donnelley employees volunteered their time to help during qualifying competiton.
