A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Warsaw Community High School football player left paralyzed after an ATV accident Sunday.
The page for Ryan Coleman, 16, is titled “Ryan Coleman #75 Strong” and can be found at www.gofundme.com/ryan-coleman-75-strong. It was set up by Debra Dome Brice, Coleman’s aunt.
Coleman’s football jersey number is 75. He is an offensive lineman.
The high school sophomore was riding a four-wheeler when it hit a fence near Claypool around 7 p.m. Sunday. He was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. A spokeswoman for Parkview said Tuesday afternoon that Coleman was in serious condition.
Indiana Conservation Officer Sgt. Ashlee Jackson said Coleman had injuries to his back, legs, right arm and hand.
Information on the GoFundMe page indicates Coleman suffered several broken bones, a collapsed lung and multiple spine fractures, and underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his spinal cord.
He remains paralyzed from the waist down.
“He has a long road to recovery ahead. We are raising funds to help cover the multiple expenses related to his medical care, rehabilitation, adaptive devices and support of Ryan,” the page reads.
“Above all, we ask that you continue to pray for Ryan and his family,” a note on the page said.
As of this morning, $565 of the $20,000 goal had been raised.
