Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory responded to a diesel fuel leak Tuesday night.
At about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Kosciusko County Central Dispatch Center received a report of an odor described as diesel fuel on Boeing Drive in the area of Waste Management, according to a news release from the fire territory.
Fire units found a liquid coming from the parking area of Waste Management and determined it to be a leaking pipe from a diesel storage tank.
The crews applied collection booms and absorbent materials in an attempt to control and stop the flow of liquid into the public way, the news release said.
Fire crews remained on site during heavy rains to monitor the situation.
Waste Management officials contacted a remediation company, which responded to the area and is working today to clean the area of the liquid material, the fire territory news release said.
As a result, part of Boeing Drive is closed to through traffic today.
No fire or injuries were associated with this accidental discharge.
Officials from the city of Warsaw and Indiana Department of Emergency Management, along with Kosciusko County EMA, were expected to visit the site today.
