MARION, Ind. - For the fourth year in a row, Grace’s men’s tennis team is standing atop the Crossroads League.
The Lancers claimed the 2026 Crossroads League Tournament championship for the fourth straight time, upsetting top-seeded Huntington 4-2 on Saturday.
The championship match spanned two days as weather on Friday extended the title bout into the weekend.
Grace secured the doubles’ point on Friday. Aurelien Coan and Stergios Papadopoulos won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles, and Manuel Marques and Andreas Polichronopoulos won 6-3 at No. 3 to wrap up the doubles’ point.
Grace’s momentum carried into Saturday against No. 10 Huntington.
The Foresters evened the match with a win at No. 3 singles, and they also picked up a two-set win at No. 5.
The Lancers responded with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 singles thanks to Manuel Marques.
Benjamin Rahine was a 6-4, 6-3 victor at No. 2 singles, putting the Lancers on the brink of a championship.
Mahefa Rakotomalala made good on his moment, producing a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6. Grace’s team spilled onto his court, tackling Rakotomalala in a euphoric celebration.
The Lancers now own the league’s automatic bid to the 2026 NAIA National Championships. The national tournament is held May 12-16 in Mobile, Ala.
