Injuries suffered by two men in separate Monday afternoon accidents landed both in a Fort Wayne hospital. A woman injured in one of the accidents was admitted to Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Earl M. Svendsen, 69, of Heather Boulevard, Nappanee, suffered a broken leg and was semi-conscious at the scene of the 1:10 p.m. accident at the intersection of CRs 300E and 1100N, near Milford. Svendsen was airlifted from KCH to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was listed in fair condition this morning.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Svendsen was northbound on CR 300E when an eastbound car driven by Kristi Marie Brandon, 19, of East Fox Run Drive, Syracuse, pulled into his path.

Brandon told police she didn't see Svendsen approaching over a hill crest and pulled into the intersection after stopping. Svendsen's motorcycle struck Brandon's car in the intersection.

Damage is estimated at $2,500 to $5,000 to Brandon's car and $1,000 to $2,500 to Svendsen's motorcycle.

In a 4 p.m. accident at the intersection of CRs 700N and 200E, near Leesburg, three people were injured when two cars collided.

A KCSD report indicates that Jens Borowski, 30, of Stuttgart, Germany, failed to stop at a stop sign while southbound on CR 200E. The rental car he was driving was struck in the passenger side by a car driven by Robert E. Rohlfing, 71, EMS T48 Lane, Syracuse. Rohlfing was eastbound on CR 700N.

Rohlfing complained of hip pain and was transferred by ground ambulance from KCH to Parkview, where he was listed in fair condition this morning.

Rohlfing's wife, Wanda Rohlfing, 69, suffered a broken leg and was admitted to KCH, where she was listed in stable condition this morning.

Borowski suffered bleeding to his elbow and was treated at KCH and released.

After Borowski's and Rohlfing's cars collided, Borowski's car went into a yard on the southeast side of the intersection and struck a house owned by Kyle Tom, East CR 700N, Leesburg. Rohlfing's car entered the same yard and struck a tree.

Damage is estimated at $2,500 to $5,000 to each car and $750 to $1,000 to Tom's property.
