Two adults and two children were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital early this morning after their car collided with a semi. According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, police responded to a traffic accident around 12:30 a.m. today at the intersection of US 30 and North Parker Street in Warsaw. The report stated that James E. Eddy, 51, of La Porte, was driving his semi Eastbound on US 30 and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection. A car - driven by Tiffany N. Grindle, 21, Warsaw – traveling South on North Parker Street proceeded into the intersection and struck Eddy’s vehicle on the driver side. The fuel tanks on the semi were severely damaged during the collision and a large amount of diesel fuel then leaked onto the roadway. Sun Pro, a hazards material company in Elkhart, was called to the scene to clean the diesel fuel off the roadway. Grindle, her passenger and the two children she was traveling with all complained of pain and were transported to KCH for further evaluation. At the time police issued the crash report, medical staff advised the children had no injuries and the passenger in Grindle’s vehicle was being given Xrays on both her knees and her neck. Grindle was being examined for possible head injuries.
