The Indiana American Water Co. water main replacement project along Detroit Street will need to close Fort Wayne Street at the intersection with Detroit Street Monday and Tuesday. The contractor will be installing pipe to eventually join the south end of the project with existing pipe and then compact and asphalt the cut, weather dependent. Eastbound Fort Wayne Street traffic will not be able to turn north or travel straight across Detroit Street. Eastbound Fort Wayne Street traffic will only be allowed to turn south on Detroit Street. Fort Wayne Street should be reopened by the end of the day Tuesday. Motorists should find alternate routes and avoid this area, if at all possible.
