Fort Wayne Deputy Chief To Address Domestic Violence

Deputy Chief Dottie Davis, a 26-year veteran of the Fort Wayne Police Department, will be in Warsaw to address the topic of domestic violence.

The seminar will be Nov. 16 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Center Lake Pavilion, and will include time for questions and answers. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and a continental breakfast will be provided by Eagle Creek Farms Market.

Davis will address the effects domestic violence has on a community and what its citizens can do to help ensure their neighborhoods are a safer place to live.

Davis is an active advocate in addressing domestic violence in the home, schools and workplace. She is a family violence trainer for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and National College of District Attorneys.

She also serves on the boards of the Governor's Commission for the Prevention and Treatment of Family Violence and the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Davis is a board member for the Fort Wayne Women's Bureau, YWCA and Park Center Inc.

She is a 2003 graduate of the National FBI Academy.
